Balkan: Yugoslavian Home Cooking

Last year, I and my Pinoy X-Philes friends went to eat somewhere different. I have a German friend and he recommended me to eat to this Yugoslavian restaurant, Balkan.

I love this small restaurant and mostly their customers are foreigners. It’s quiet when we went there and a perfect place for our meeting and a happy Southern European music was playing. Since we didn’t have any idea about Balkan food, we asked the waitress for her recommendations.

We ordered a Goulash (no pic). It’s a beef stew soup with pasta. DEFINITELY A RECOMMENDED FOOD! This is only a appetizer but it’s really heavy. The serving is already good for 3 people for 280 pesos.

Grilled chicken topped with 3 kinds of cheese.

I would say that Balkan foods are FOOD FOR THE MEN. They are all meat!

We had a great time in Balkan. They have 2 branches in Makati. One is at the Dela Rosa Street and one is at the BGC. I am definitely going back here.
